Birdseye
iOS App ยท In Development
A consumer iOS bird identification app built using Claude Code. Multi-modal AI โ€” image recognition, sound analysis, and natural language description โ€” with a conversational interface that guides users to a confident species match.

What it does
Three ways to identify any bird
๐Ÿ“ท
Image Recognition
Point your camera at a bird and the AI identifies the species from visual characteristics โ€” plumage, size, shape, markings.
๐ŸŽต
Sound Analysis
Record a bird's call or song and the AI matches it against thousands of species-specific vocalizations.
๐Ÿ’ฌ
Natural Language
Describe what you saw in plain language. The AI asks follow-up questions about habitat, location, color, and behavior to narrow possibilities.
Why this project
Building what I want to see exist

Birdseye started as a way to explore Claude Code's capabilities beyond enterprise work โ€” could I design and build a consumer AI experience entirely on my own, from scratch, targeting App Store release?

The multi-modal identification challenge is genuinely hard. Most bird ID apps rely on a single input method. Birdseye is designed around the reality that most bird sightings are incomplete โ€” you caught a glimpse, heard a sound, or have a rough description but no photo. The conversational UX is the core design problem.

This is the project that shows I build AI experiences out of curiosity, not just because clients pay for them.
